Issue No. 14 - Rejuvenating a Rocker
********************************************
Hi
If you are wondering how to rejuvenate a chair
that once had caning in the seat but is no
longer useable, maybe this tip will be helpful.
A customer brought in an old rocker that had
belonged to her grandmother. The caning in
the seat had given away. She didn't want to
re-cane it. But, she still wanted to be able
to use it.
She also had a needlepoint piece that her mother
had done. She wanted to use this on the chair
seat.
We cut a piece of plywood to fit over the opening
in the chair seat. We padded the plywood seat
piece and covered it with the needlepoint. Next,
we attached the completed seat to the rocker.
To see the completed rocker, go to.
